first post -- statement of purpose

this is my first outing as a blogger. please forgive any blunders.

'Four Corners' is a blog devoted to culture, politics, and philosophy. (all the things that make life interesting!) (for those of you up on current events...you'll know the status of the monument and what that suggests...)

i'll post on virtually everything leading from current events back to the far distant past (or what we know of it).

i just finished listening to a cspan replay of pres. obama's science speech. basic r&d at 3% of gnp! great move!
